Missions - Global
Guatemala Mission Trip April 8 – 18th
In partnership with Hands for Peacemaking Foundation, Marine View is sending a mission team of 11 to the western highlands region of Guatemala this spring. The team will be working in the rural village of Canton las Maravillas installing 85 vented stoves to replace the open fires inside the homes and thereby improve the health and quality of life of the villagers. We will also provide gifts of Bibles, and children’s fun bags and share God’s love and a message of hope with the indigenous Mayas living in village. This year’s team will have the opportunity to stay in the village, experiencing daily life among the villagers they will serve.
You can participate in this mission both financially and prayerfully. First, use the donation cards found in the pew racks in the sanctuary to make a contribution toward the purchase of the stoves for families in the village of Canton las Maravillas, bibles and general mission trip expenses. Due to the size of this year’s project and team, we need to raise approximately $40,000. Second, please commit to pray regularly and specifically for the team members and the villagers they serve before, during, and after the trip. Prayer guides will be available at the Information Counter and the Marine View website in March.
Please take a moment to visit the Mission bulletin boards in the hall and to visit the Guatemala Mission Cause page on Facebook.
On behalf of Marine View’s 2010 Guatemala Mission Team, thank you for your support and partnership in ministry!
Serving Christ with you, Hanna Arstein, Kathy Arstein, Bill Baird, Ian Clark, Sue Clark, Young Choy, Steve Drury, Ross Gaussoin, Sarah Kirk, Pastor Jon Schmick, and Larry Schmick.
Sharing Christ's Gospel with the World
Mission Outreach is the opportunity that Christ gives each of us to change lives for Him while compassionately meeting the needs of others. By focusing on international mission and being actively involved through prayer, personal service and giving, members of the Marine View family can make a spiritual difference for people around the world. Following Jesus' commission to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19), these organizations, projects and mission workers will be strengthened through your support.
"And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message..." (Colossians 4:3).
