A Note from Our Worship Leader

Worship singing at Marine View is meant as one way to show our thanks, admiration, and respect to God. We express joy and happiness, while also asking for mercy and forgiveness for things that only God can forgive. It is a celebration at times. Other times it is a humbling...wrenching time- a time of kneeling before a mighty God in repentance. It is conversation with a Holy Presence.

Now, here is something you may not have thought about: our worship is also a strong witness to those who aren’t yet followers of Jesus. Every Sunday there are new people sitting in the sanctuary, risking coming to church to give this 'God' thing a try - sometimes for the first time. Our worship time- singing, praying, even the time we greet each other- is a strong witness to faith in Jesus Christ and to who God is. Joining in the praises, bowing our heads in reverence, humbling ourselves, our attention during the teaching time, it all has the power to help you understand who you are because of who God is.

I want to take this opportunity to share my excitement about the direction we’re moving in with worship at Marine View. I have had the privilege of helping lead at Marine View Presbyterian Church through the singing of 'Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs' for over 6 months now. What a joy to see so many smiling faces with the song lyrics that speak to the Christian faith!

I am proud to be a part of Marine View’s gatherings every week. I looked forward to the opportunity to sing with you, pray with you, celebrate mercy with you...and cry out for forgiveness with you.
