Marine View's Music Man

Meet the music pastor who always has a song in his heart.

By John Jensen

If Larry Krueger, Marine View’s Worship Director, looks like a man on a mission, he is. Since joining us in April of 2014, he’s been busy revitalizing our worship music program—and his efforts have not gone unnoticed.

This man of many talents joined us after 17 years with Federal Way’s St. Luke’s music program and he’s been passionate about music all his life.

“I grew up in a musical family and sang in choir and played in the band in both high school and college.”

On any given Sunday, it is not surprising to see this intrepid songster move from one musical instrument to another as he strives to make worship everything it can be.

“I played trumpet in high school and college and now I mostly play bass and rhythm guitar. But I can play simple keyboard/piano parts to help the band, if needed, as well as basic drumbeats, in a pinch.”

What attracted him to our church?  “Marine View is a growing congregation that has energy,” he said. “There is a feeling of ‘what is to come’ everywhere, and that is exciting to be a part of this.

There are opportunities everywhere to help us become a more vibrant, relevant, ‘deeper and wider’ church body, and my family and I are blessed to be here.”

Speaking of family, Larry and his wife, Sheralyn, have been married five years and have four children:  two sons Ian, 21, and Jesse, 19, from his previous marriage; and Sheralyn’s two sons Tyler, 15, and Brady,13.

Larry is excited about the future of Marine View.

“My dream for our church is that we would be looked on in this neighborhood as a place of love, caring and hope, a place of joy and of compassion, of consistency and relevance. So when someone who does not know and trust the Lord seeks him, they would feel comfortable coming here to learn more about Him and how He can change their lives—through fellowship, classes, and worship and music.”
