Easter Weekend - Celebrating Together at Marine View

What a great weekend of celebration together at Marine View! Thanks to all those who helped make Easter weekend a successful time of reflection, fun, celebration, and thanksgiving by serving and participating in worship and activities.

Here Is What We Did

Good Friday Service - A group of 125 gathered to remember and reflect on the meaning and significance of Jesus' death on a cross for the forgiveness of sin. We shared in communion together and 55 of you nailed confessions of sin and selfishness to the cross. Together we remembered that 'We Were There.' Though we left in silence, sitting in the shadow of the cross - we left with the hope of Easter Sunday to come.

Easter Eggstravaganza - Our 7th annual Easter Eggstravaganza was incredibly fun.  Energy and excitement were present throughout the East Campus building as folks from the across the generations at Marine View came together to serve our community.   Here are some of the highlights of what we accomplished together:

  • We stuffed and hid over 4500 eggs for kids to find.
  • We gave away 40 Golden Egg prizes.
  • We welcomed over 140 kids and their families.
  • We provided a fun experience for over 89 children, not from Marine View.
  • We made connections with 20 families who are seeking to learn more about Marine View's ministry.
  • We helped children discover the surprise ending of the Easter story through our 5 hands-on learning activities.
  • We came together to serve families with a team consisting of 32 volunteers giving a total of over 80 hours

Easter Sunday - We worshipped together with nearly 500 in attendance - celebrating the heart of the Christian faith - the good news about Jesus' death and resurrection. We welcomed Marine View regulars, guests, and visiting family. The Marine View Children's Ministry Team hosted 83 children in our children's environments - celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus through songs, crafts, and the story of the first Easter.

Thank you to all those who served and gave their time to help make Easter weekend a meaningful time or worship, fun, and celebration. We are grateful for a community like Marine View committed to sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ with each other and those around us. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel as we serve Christ together.

Blessings in Christ,

The Marine View Staff
