We are an intergenerational, Christ-centered, community committed to helping each person to go deeper with Jesus and reach wider with his love. When we move toward our vision and live out our mission, we flourish as a church, we are better able to love our neighbors inside the church and in the world around us, trusting that the Lord works through us to lead people to saving faith and deeper discipleship.

In 2022, Marine View celebrated 100 years of mission and ministry in the Dash Point area. Marine View began as a Sunday School in the original Dash Point School in 1922 and our church family has been committed to loving and serving kids, families, and people of all ages and stages of life ever since. Presbyterians are connected to the Reformed Tradition within the Protestant wing of the Christian Church. The Reformed tradition celebrates “the Church reformed and always reforming.” In others words, there are always deeper truths to uncover and better ways of living a life of faith. The Reformed tradition affords room for a range of people and perspectives under the lordship of Jesus Christ. The Marine View community includes folks who sit on all sides of just about every major political or social issue of our day who are united in the love of Jesus Christ and in affirming essential beliefs articulated in ECO’s polity and theology documents.

Jesse Skiffington

Pastor Jesse Skiffington began his time on staff at Marine View Church as Associate Pastor in July 2009 and has since served as Interim Pastor (2013-2015) and Senior Pastor (2015 to present). Jesse earned his MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary and his BA in Speech Communication and Political Science, from the University of Washington. He and his wife Callie have two children, Addie and Will and share life together in the PNW along with their golden retriever Alex. Jesse also Co-Hosts the long-running “Reclaimed Leader” Podcast.
Amongst other things, Jesse enjoys spending time with his family, coaching little league, rooting for the Huskies, hiking in the Cascades, golfing with friends, reading classic novels, and tackling DIY home improvement projects.
Pastor Jesse is passionate about his faith in Jesus Christ and is committed to Marine View’s mission to go deeper with Jesus and reaching wider with his love.

Pastor for Teaching and Discipleship

Andrew Johnson

Pastor Andrew Johnson was brought on staff at Marine View Church in January 2023 to focus on teaching and discipleship. Prior to joining the staff at Marine View Church Andrew taught theology, philosophy, and ethics to university students and ordination candidates at the University of Edinburgh during his doctoral studies. Andrew earned his PhD in Systematic Theology from the University of Edinburgh as well as an MA in Theology and an MA in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. During his postgraduate studies he also spent time studying at the University of Mainz in Germany, the Catholic University of Paris in France, and at Harvard University. He started his undergraduate studies at Western Washington University and finished with a BS in Religion from Liberty University. He and his wife Christine have two daughters, Abigail and Eden. Pastor Andrew is passionate about theology done in and for the church as well as fellowship and hospitality as we seek to grow in our sense of both belonging and believing in Jesus Christ.
